Physiotherapy is one of the most important rehabilitative service needed in a community. It is a vital therapeutic supplement of the medical profession, integral to the treatment of most patients.
Physiotherapy, as profession, may briefly be defined as a science that seeks to alleviate movement dysfunction to promote optimal health and function of the human body. It involves radiation , electricity , sound water and massage and is use to cure weak muscles, difficulties in the movement of shoulder and knee joint, paralysis inborn and acquired deformities, gynecological aliments and other such disorders. Patients with such problems are referred by medical practitioners to physiotherapists who then take on the responsibility of restoring them to health. |

Physiotherapists also train the permanently disabled and handicapped people to make their best use of abilities. Besides dealing with the preventive and remedial aspect of the disabled, they play a significant role in training sportsmen and in treating any injuries caused. Although a relatively new profession in India, the demand for Physiotherapists in the country is immense, especially with increasingly sedentary lifestyles. |

| What is Physiotherapy? |

| Physiotherapy is an important skillful treatment Science and technique in the Medical field, with a focus on hospital and patients. It is 4 ½ years course delivered in 8 semesters and remaining internship programme non stipendiary internship apart from providing basic knowledge study visits, Practical training and bed side teaching is imparted. |

The College of Physiotherapy will be a separate unit with independent infrastructure soon. At the outset the classroom lectures and practical training can be conducted in available recreation hall at 3rd floor of N.R.M. Hospital and well-equipped laboratories in main building of D.S.H.M. College respectively.
The well ventilated recreation hall is time being prepared with basic education facilities and appliances as follows: |
