3. MD (Hom) - in Homoeopathic Rerpertory - Dr of Medicine in Hom. Repertory.

As per DMER rules.
Applications for admissions to First Year B.H.M.S. Course for every academic year are invited from students, who have passed XIIth standard examination from H.S.C. Boards in Maharashtra and other States in India and those who passed Common Entrance Test generally conducted in the month of May every year.
The percentage of PCB marks will be considered for admissions. The applications are to be made in the prescribed form. The Tuition Fees have been decided by the Management in view of the decisions of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India & High Court Mumbai and Shikshan Shulka Samiti.
As per Shikshan Sulka Samiti the fee Structure for the A.Y. 2010-2011 is as follows.

Other Fees
a) Eligibility fees and other fees from time to time as per MUHS direction: one time payment.
b) Caution money - Refundable deposit Rs. 5,000/- one time.
15% seats are filled through management quota as per DMER directives, out of which 5% seats are reserved for NRIs.
 
Generally the admission process commences after the CET Results are available in June every year. The merit list will be put up on the Notice Board of the college.
1. Admissions will be given strictly as per DMER/AMHMCM Rules. The decision of the Management will be final.
2. The admissions given in Reserve seats will be on the basis of authenticated certificates and documents regarding caste and marks obtained only in XIIth standard. The seats remaining vacant in reserve category and also otherwise shall be filled in at the discretion of the management as per the timely directives from DMER
3. All admission are subject to decisions of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India and Hon'ble High Court and subject to confirmation by M.U.H.S., Nashik. Pl. note.
4. Repeaters of BHMS Course of the college will be required to pay fees for each term.
5. For the seats remaining vacant after the 1st and 2nd round of centralized admission process is over the admissions will be made on merit basis and on first come first serve basis.
6. Management reserves its right to alter the above structure depending upon Supreme / High Court decision, University orders or any other compelling circumstances, so deem fit by the management.
Rules and Regulations
Maharashtra Technical Education Society's, Dhondumama Sathe Homoeopathic Medical College was established in the year 1972 and is conducting four and half year BHMS Degree Course as well as Post Graduate Course in Homoeopathy leading to M.D. Homoepathy Degree.
The college has an excellent infrastructure, a prominent location in Pune and enjoys excellent reputation.
1. APPLICATION FORMS
1.1 Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for admissions to the 1st year of BHMS Course by MTE Society's, Dhondumama Sathe Homoeopathic Medical College, Pune affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nasik. The application is to be made in prescribed application form.
2. ISSUE OF FORMS
2.1 The application forms are available at college office at the cost of Rs. 350/- to be paid by cash or local cheques or DD drawn in the name of DSHM College, Pune. Forms will not be sent by post or by any other mode and will have to be collected personally from the college on all working days between 10 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. except Sundays and other declared holidays.
2.2 The application must be filled by the candidate in his/her own handwriting using ball-point pen.
3. RECEIPT OF FORMS
3.1 The duly filled forms along with the attested enclosures shall be accepted in the college office with immediate effect during office hours.
3.2 The application must be filled by the candidate in his/her own handwriting using ball-point pen.
3.3 Attested copies of the following documents to be enclosed along with the application:
 
A Nationality Certificate issued by District Magistrate/ additional District Magistrate or Metropolitan Magistrate or any other competent authority for issue of such certificate or valid Indian Passport.
B S.S.C or equivalent certificate with statement of marks.
C H.S.C or equivalent statement of marks.
D Medical fitness certificate.
E Constitutional Reservation Claim-
a Caste Certificate
b Caste validity certificate/ letter to the effect that application for CVC is pending with appropriate scrutiny committee.
F Gap Certificate if applicable.
3.4 Applications are to be submitted by the candidates in Dhondumama Sathe Homoeopathic Medical College, Pune 4 at the above given address.
3.5 The college office accepting the application form shall issue receipt of the form.
3.6 After the 1st merit list is displayed on the college notice board if vacancies are still available even after 1st round , the further list will be displayed till the cut off declared by MUHS.
4. ELIGIBILITY
4.1 The candidate will be eligible for admission to the course of BHMS every year fulfillment of following conditions as led down of DMER/ MUHS Nasik (Maharashtra):
  Distribution of Seats
  For Reserved Category:
  The candidate should have claimed the reservation in the original application form. The candidate claiming reservation must submit the caste validity certificate at the time of interview failing which the category claim will not be granted. In case the candidate is not in a position to produce caste validity certificate he/she should submit a letter that the claim for procuring CVC is pending with the Caste Scrutiny Committee at the time of interview. The admission may be given provisionally, subject to the decision of the management within two weeks.
4.2 After the exclusion of reserved seats and management quota seats the remaining seats if any will be filled in amongst the candidates of open category strictly on the basis of merit.
4.3 Seats under management reservation. 10% seats are reserved by the management out of which 5% seats are reserved for NRIs.
4.4 In case the seats of reserved category or any other seats are left vacant, all such seats will be filled by the management at its own discretion.
4.5 For further details refer to booklet issued by DMER - MHCET - every year.
5. PREPARATION OF MERIT LIST
5.1 Basis of selection - The 90 seats will be filled in purely on merit basis.
5.2 If all the seats are filled in or the sufficient numbers of candidates are available further rounds may not be conducted.
6. ADMISSIONS
6.1 Demand draft/ pay order/ cash (to be deposited in Bank of Maharashtra, Karve Road, Pune-4) of stipulated tution and other fees in full(drawn on any scheduled nationalized bank in favour of Dhondumama Sathe Homoeopathic Medical College, payable at Pune) as advance payment of fees within two days. There after the admissions will stand cancelled.
6.2 At the time of interview the candidates will be called individually in descending order of merit. The candidate after being called will have to sign attendance register and after ascertaining the eligibility and receipt of payment will be admitted provisionally in the 1st year of BHMS in the college. In the selection process the candidate will be required to be present personally. Under exceptional circumstances proxy may be allowed subject to procedure and approval from the management.
6.3 All such admissions will be provisional admissions and are subject to the rulings from Supreme Court of India/ High Court of Bombay and Rules and Regulations made by State Government and Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nasik including eligibility acceptance of candidates.
6.4 The management reserves the right to amend the rules, dates and /or the admission at its discretion during the period of admission process and subsequent.
7. CANCELLATION OF ADMISSION
7.1 Once provisional admission is given and fees are accepted cancellation of admission on whatsoever ground shall not be allowed. No refund of fees is admissible.
7.2 The selected candidate will have to join the college immediately.
8. ADMISSIONS TO VACANT SEATS
After the end of 2nd round the management reserves the right to fill in the vacant seats as per its discretion, Subject to any changes as per timely directives from DMER/AMHMCM.
9. CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
9.1 The student while studying in the Health Sciences, if found indulging in anti national activities, unlawful activities or ragging in any form, contrary to the provisions of Act and Law enforced by Government, will be liable to be expelled from the college by the Dean/Principal of the College.
9.2 Failure of the candidate in making full and correct statement in the application form and /or suppression of any information would lead to disqualification of the candidate, even at later date. Such a candidate will be debarred from the entire selection process.
9.3 It is responsibility of every candidate to submit proper documents. Any attempt to submit documents which are not genuine will lead to cancellation of the admission of the candidate, forfeiture of the fees, deposits and expulsion of the candidate from the college by the Competent Authority or by his authorized official. If deemed fit even criminal proceeding may be initiated by the Management.
9.4 Pursuant to orders in W.P. (Civil) No. 656 of 1999, Hon'ble Supreme Court of India, has directed the Department of Human resources Development and Education, Govt. of India, to take all necessary steps to curb the menace of ragging and take severe action against the students involved in such activities.
9.5 As per the provisions of Maharashtra Act XXXIII known as "Maharashtra Prohibition of ragging Act of 1999", students indulging in ragging can be punished under the Act resulting in suspension, expulsion from the college and imprisonment.
9.6 Any issue not dealt here-in above will be dealt with, when arising, fully and finally by the management.
9.7 Operating Mobile phones on the premises and classrooms is strictly prohibited.
9.8 Consumption of Gutkha, alcohol, drugs and smoking in the premises of college is strictly prohibited.
9.9 Pin drop silence is to be observed in Reading Hall and Library.
9.10 Maintenance of Hygienic conditions and cleanliness should become part of habit of the students and others on premises.
9.11 Student shall observe proper discipline in and around the college premises.
9.12 Student will pay the yearly fees during re-admission to every next year.
9.13 Student will produce his I-card whenever it is asked for, and will not be allowed to enter in the college without I-Card.
9.14 It is understood that the college cannot take the responsibility of reporting examination performance to the parents. Parents may enquire about the performance and attendance of their ward with prior permission periodically.

Eligibility
XII Std with Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
Passing marks in MHCET Exams.
Age Limit: Minimum 17 yrs on or before the month of December of Admission year.
 
Admission Procedure
Through centralised system of admission conducted by Govt of Maharashtra. Once a year in June/July for First BHMS Course.Actual admission dates published in newspapers and put up on College Notice Board.

Course Duration & Subjects
Spread over 5-1/2 yrs, including 1-yr compulsory internship after passing final Degree Exam as under:
First BHMS: 1-1/2 yrs
Anatomy, Physiology, Homoeopathic Materia Medica, Organon & Homoeopathic Philosophy, Homoeopathic Pharmacy and Normal Psychology.
Second BHMS: 1 yr
Pathology, Bacteriology and Parasitology, Forensic Medicine, Homoeopathic Materia Medica, Organon & Homoeopathic Philosophy, Chronic Diseases.
Subjects taught during this year but not for Exam: Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Homoeopathic Therapeutics.
Third BHMS: 1 yr
Surgery including ENT, Ophthalmology, Dental Diseases, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Homoeopathic Materia Medica, Organon & Homoeopathic Philosophy, Chronic Diseases and Homoeopathic Therapeutics.
Final BHMS: 1 yr
Medicine including Paediatrics, Skin & Psychiatry, Homoeopathic Materia Medica, Homoeopathic Therapeutics and Homoeopathic Repertory, Social & Preventive Medicine.
Internship: 1 yr
After passing final BHMS Exam, compulsory internship in attached hospitals to become eligible for award of BHMS Degree. No stipend paid during internship.
Scheme Of Examination
Final exams ordinarily conducted twice a year - in October & May - by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. Passing marks separately in each subject: 50% in Theory and Oral/Practical or Clinical Exam.75% and above marks indicate Distinction in that subject. Internal assessment separately in each subject compulsory.
College Hours
8:30 am to 4.30 pm, unless otherwise announced by the Principal. Closed on Sundays and Public Holiday as may be declared by University/College.
Terms & Vacations
As per MUHS notifications. Usually first term is June-October and second November-April.
Attendance
Minimum 80% for lectures, practicals, clinical/tutorial classes in each subject to become eligible for Exam.

Refunds & Cancellations
As per Government notified rules.
Leave of Absence
Absence due to illness: Supported by proper medical certificate.Other genuine causes to be considered by the Principal on merit.Absence without just cause can result into detention in same class.
Discipline
Breach of discipline will be suitably dealt with. Serious lapses of discipline and character could result in dismissal at the discretion of the Principal/ Board of Control.
Registration & Privileges
Student who passes Final BHMS Exam is entitled to be registered as Medical Practitioner under BHBP Act 1959,and can sign Birth and Death Certificates, hold appointment as a Physician or other Medical Officer in any Homoeopathic Dispensary, Hospital or Infirmary supported by grant from State or Central Govt.He/she can be registered in Central Register of Homoeopathy maintained by Central Council of Homoeopathy and will enjoy privileges mentioned in HCC Act 1973.

Training Period
Three years after registration including one year of house job.

Training Method
Intensive training in classical knowledge along with comparative and critical study of subject. Each student is required to write a Thesis or Dissertation with detailed commentary which should provide him/her with necessary background of training in research methods and techniques along with the art of writing research papers,and learning and making use of library. Each candidate shall participate in teaching and training of under-graduate students and Interns. 80% attendance mandatory for grant of a term.
Eligibility for Registration
BHMS/ Graded BHMS Degree of any recognized University. Registration as a Medical Practitioner must be acquired within 6 months from admission. Candidates passing the Common Entrance Test (AMHMCM/PG) are eligible for obtaining forms from college.
